TODAY'S NEWSPAPER
In Bay County, where 264 teens got pregnant in 2005 and at least 100 contracted a sexually transmitted infection last year, teaching birth control and the use of condoms to prevent disease is a no-no. The one district that will add a sex education program this year - Pinconning Area Schools - will teach an abstinence-only curriculum, meaning that teens learn the only way to prevent pregnancy or a sexually transmitted infection (STI) is by not having sex.
