Flint Northern High School classes of 1938-40 reminisce about changing times

MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Michigan — By the laughter and loud chatter coming from a back dining room at Sorrento's, one would never know the occupants graduated from high school 70 years ago.
Maybe happy times with friends is one way to stay young.
Alumni of Flint Northern High School classes of 1938-40 have been gathering for lunch at noon the fifth Tuesday of any month that has the day at Sorrento's Food & Spirits, 6393 W. Pierson Road.
"I enjoy seeing my classmates," said Mary (Ragnone) Cherveny of Flushing, one of the organizers from the Class of 1938. "I know there are several of them in Flushing, but
I don't know all of their addresses."

See what Genesee County area high school reunions are coming up
The Malone family, which includes members from Flint, appears on the new reality show "Family Reunion" at 7 p.m. April 6 on TV One.Along with a fish fry, dinner with guests dressed in white and a church service, this year's Deloach family reunion includes a weigh-in at the Holiday Inn.
"We have a weight-loss challenge," said Timesee Dixon of Flint, vice-president of the reunion organizing committee.
The family member who has lost the most weight over the past year will win a prize.
