Lorne Rolston, 27, of Flint, looks on as a nurse at Hurley Medical Center checks the amount of blood being pulled from his body while getting a blood transfusion as part of his treatment dealing with sickle cell anemia. "I try to tell as many people as I can because I'm not embarrased about having it. I'm living with it and I'm still able to live a normal life or at least try to," said Rolston. "One day I'm at work the next day I'm here I would say I live a very complex life. A lot of people don't see it because I make the best out of the situation. It's like I'm dealt these cards I just do it the best way I can." He's planning a get-together event for other people with Sickle Cell Anemia on Sept. 27.FLINT, Michigan -- Lorne Rolston is supposed to be at work this week, helping students enroll in college classes.
He isn't supposed to be lying in a hospital bed, woozy from morphine and waiting for a blood transfusion.
But he is.
Again.

St. Luke, Sacred Heart and St. Agnes Catholic churches, all in northern Flint, were closed this summer because of low attendance and increasing financial problems.
