ADA TOWNSHIP -- Former Egypt Valley Country Club golf professional Lynn Janson and Roger Boer, his attorney and a suspended club member, said they are not out for revenge.
But Boer has filed two lawsuits in Kent County Circuit Court seeking a combined $5 million-plus in damages from the club, individual members and a former general manager.
"I absolutely begged them to make good on Lynn losing his job and future retirement, and really to help the club members who have been hurt because of past management mistakes by the board members, and they have ignored us," Boer said.

After five years and two potential housing development sales falling through, the golf course at English Hills Country Club is reopen and offering what owners call an affordable option to golfers.
Owners Bruce Langlois and Kim and Steve Sorrelle opened the public golf course at 1200 Four Mile Ave. NW in Comstock Park to play Sept. 15.
"Our idea since we started working on the course again was to try to give West Michigan golfers a break," Kim Sorrelle said. "Prices keep going up, and we knew there was a way we could offer golf at a lower price."

Greg Johnson says Boo Weekley, right, could be the next John Daly in terms of popularity on the PGA Tour.Grand Rapids Press columnist Greg Johnson joined Bill Simonson inside the "GR Press Box" to talk about the United State's victory over Europe in the Ryder Cup.
"It was funny how (U.S. captain Paul) Azinger split them up into really three different foursomes, and kept them that way all week," Johnson said. "He put the country club guys out first, he put the country guys in the middle and he put the quiet, silent guys at the end.
"He thought this was the best way to make them into a team and it worked. It actually was pretty brilliant."

The Tiger Woods-less U.S. Ryder Cup team has some teeth, despite missing the world's best player. "I felt like after they teed off, I just wanted to go back to the hotel and get under the covers and just wake up around 11:30 (a.m.) and see how we were doing.
"I really didn't want to watch. It was painful for me. Even towards the end, just watching it, you're so wrapped up in it, but with not control at this point really."
