CEDAR SPRINGS - Perhaps one of the most difficult challenges in sports is getting your team up to face another team, especially if your team is coming off a state championship and features a return team exploding with talented players.
Jenison coach Alana Kooi doesn't appear to have that problem in Wildcat country, as her marquee talent made the trip to Cedar Springs High School to face a much-improved group from Grand Haven (35-22-2) in the Wildcats' 3-1Class A regional-final win last Thursday night.

With conference alignments shaking up area sports, this boys tennis season saw the rise of the ultra-competitive O-K White. Playing host to two top-five state teams in East Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Christian, the White also spawned three No. 1 singles state finalists, including Mr. Tennis hopeful Michael Sukenik of East Grand Rapids, Northview's Aaron Hendrick, and Greenville's Bryant Dudzik. The O-K White also crowned six state-flight winners.
The search for the best male tennis players of 2008 reached epic proportions. While all are deserving, only a slim few of talented racketeers can make the cut. With that said, we give you the Advance All-Area Boys Tennis team:

Bikers, joggers, in-line skaters - even downtown businesses - all could benefit from a planned expansion of the Buck Creek trail system.
A 0.8-mile expansion is planned to link Grandville's Buck Creek Trails to the Kent Trail system that runs along the Grand River.
