The Pontiac Silverdome -- built by the city in 1975 for $55.7 million and sold this week at auction for $583,000 -- could have been a dump. A high-tech dump. Bloomfield Hills-based Greendome Development LLC bid $22 million for the Silverdome with plans to use the property for recycling, alternative energy and bioconversion disposal. Full story »

Sentencing postponed for Pontiac teen in Alabama boy's death

A sentencing hearing for a Michigan teen who police say shot and killed a 14-year-old from Alabama outside a church has been pushed back to next week. Eighteen-year-old James Cecil Willis III of Pontiac was scheduled to appear Wednesday before Oakland County Circuit Judge Wendy Potts. But the hearing was reset for Nov. 25.
