Abandoned baby found alive in Garden City trash

Authorities say a newborn baby girl was found in a trash bin outside a Garden City collision shop. Police tell local broadcasters that the baby was found about 5:30 p.m. Friday. A Detroit-area animal shelter that took in about 100 Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes this summer following a hoarding case is trying to find homes for cats and kittens.
