Rodriguez: Another month of practice would be nice

Being a first-year head coach is tough. Installing a brand-new offense is tough. Graduating virtually all of your star veteran players is tough. Put them all together, and that's just part of what Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez is facing.
He's not complaining. But Rodriguez certainly wouldn't mind having more time to prepare for the season.
"I'd like to have another month," says Rodriguez during his weekly Big Ten teleconference, "but I don't think the players would. I think they'd be tired of practicing – or have been already amongst each other – and they wanna go ahead and compete and play in the games and have some fun with that.
"Coaches, particularly in your first year, are so worried about what do (the players) completely understand. There's going to be so many situations that we've prepared for and we hope they remember what to do, but until they get into the games, it'll be the first time for them. It's like we have 105 freshmen.
"That being said, I feel comfortable with what we've prepared so far. I think we'll continue to get better, and I think the guys will react well."
Listen to the entire teleconference to hear Rodriguez discuss why rule changes may work to Michigan's disadvantage:

ALL UM FAN'S
AS OF THIS AFTERNOON CHARTER COMMUNICATION'S (IN DAVISON) NOW HAS THE BIG TEN NETWORK!
CHANNEL 45!!
GO BLUE!!!
The question is, is RR telling the truth or is he BSing. Probably BSing.
Sounds like RR is acting like a politician to a certain extent here - asking for a little wiggle room in case things don't go well. All true U-M fans will support the team win or lose, but I sure hope they come out on top against a good Utah team.
loverr knows all about NOT telling the truth!! He's a freaking lying a$$ Buckeye loving FRAUD!
Gobluetoday...I noticed the BTN about a week ago in RH. It was pretty cool to see a few of the Big 10 teams practice includng Michigan. Can't say I learned a lot from watching the pracices (too many talking heads) but it was pretty awesome all the same.
Sniff sniff... what the...yep poohtester's been rolling around in dog sh!% again. I guess that's why he calls himself the pooh tester. Call me crazy but steaming dumps and O-HI-O just seem to go together. Lets see....UM dropping out of Big 10...well that's an obvious lie, Barwis suspended ...yep lie, oh and an honest sweatervest biggest lie yet. Go Blue!
I was thinking the same thing. The 40-25 will not be any help to Michigan, because that will force the rest of the Big Ten to pick up their tempo. I'm afraid the spread offenses are going to start to multiply.
dolfan - not sure what your intention is with that link, but if its to show us RR is a jerk and not personable with this players then my answer to that is, "So what?"
Having a good personality and connecting with your players on an emotional level is not what makes a good coach. Yeah, that's great if its part of the package, but it certainly didn't help Joe Torre win championships with his multi-million dollar line-up over the last decade. Bobby Knight may be a jerk, but there's no debating he's a heck of a coach. The same could be said for Belichick. Lloyd was a great guy, and very personable with his players. He managed to win some Big Ten titles and a NC, but Mr. nice guy tends to make a team lazy and complacent. In any sport that is not good. WVU my be very happy with Stewart, but we will find out if that translates to wins or not.....
Congratulations dolfan...your kicker hated being yelled at. I bet you wvu loses on a last second kick.
